Press Brakes: Starting in 1981 when we first went in business, press brakes were one of several types of machinery which we specialized in and sold a lot of. We offer used and reconditioned late model brakes that will serve you well in your shop or plant. Press brakes are one of the most basic machines found in metal fabrication shops and many types of manufacturing plants. Any facility that fabricates sheet metal and/or plate will usually run one or more press brakes. Until the 1950s, almost all press brakes were mechanical type but with advances in hydraulics over the years, hydraulic types have by far, become the most popular. Mechanical type brakes are faster operating and have more punch, but most hydraulic types offer more versatility in the types of bending that a shop can do and they are definitely, more save to operate. Hydraulic brakes can be stopped and/or reversed at almost any point of an advance, unlike with mechanical type brakes. The introduction of CNC controls and CNC back gauges, along with hydraulics, has made a huge impact on the productivity and usefulness of press brakes, now making it possible to do a large variety of bends, even complex bends, without the need to make tooling changes in many cases. CNC controls range from simple two axis controls to very complex six or more axis controls. There are many brands of press brakes on the market now from both here and abroad. Our goal is to offer top quality used and reconditioned press brakes of the most popular brands. Some of the many brands we often have for sale are: Accupress, Amada, Adira, Allsteel, Cincinnati, Dreis-Krump, HTC, LVD, Niagara, Pacific and Wysong. Press brakes range in width capacities from one foot or so up to fifty feet. Thickness capacities range from the thinnest of sheet metal gauges to plate thickness of several inches. Tonnage can range from ten tons or less, up to two thousand tons or greater. We specialize in press brakes of 135 tons or greater capacity, as this is the size range where we save our customers the most time and money. Press brakes of this magnitude are always expensive and delivery times from the factory are normally several months.
